After the long walk and struggle to stardom, 23 year old Daniel Kaweesa was crowned the winner of the highly competitive Coca Cola Rated Next music competition on Sunday evening at Wonder World Kasanaga.
Kaweesa who went through auditions and survived several evictions beat off competition from two other ladies in the top three slot to walk away with the staked shs.50million jackpot and a recording contract with Fenon Records.
“I am so glad and excited about this win. I thank God so much and my fans, Coca Cola and Vision Group. There is so much I am going to bring out and all I need is your support. My journey begins here,” said Kaweesa.
The equally talented ladies, Rebecca Nanziri and Comfort Asingwire walked away with consolation prizes of sh5m and 2m shillings with A Samsung Galaxy tab each respectively.

Kaweesa, the Development Studies graduate from Uganda Christian University Arua was a favourite with the crowds; especially the ladies.
His amazing vocals and an imposingly impressive stage presence did the thing for him. He survived the judge’s axes and was saved on several occasions by the public and fans who voted to retain him on the show.
To come up with the contestants, the organisers had to traverse the Country's major towns of Lira, Gulu, Mbarara, Masaka, Kampala, Jinja Fort Portal and Mbale.
Daniel received his prize on a dummy cheque from the Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga and Century Bottling Company MD Norton Kingwill.
The competition was sponsored by Coca Cola together with Urban TV.
