Butaleja District woman MP Cerinah Nabanda has passed on. She died in the wee hours of Friday at
Mukwaya General Hospital-Nsambya.

She is said to have attended a conference at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo after which she developed stomach complications and was rushed to the Hospital for medical attention.
She has been one of Uganda's youngest legislators after joining parliament in 2011 at the age of 23 years. She has died at the age of 24 years.
She has also been a very vocal MP and critic of many issues that came up which according to her were affecting the progress of the country. She was among the group of NRM Legislators who have been regarded as "Rebel MPs" for their firm stand against the unfairness and ill treatment of Ugandans by the NRM government.

She has been a member of the Parliament's Social Services Committee and Committee on Budget.
She graduated in 2010 with a Bachelors of Arts in Social Science from Makerere University in Uganda.
Members of her group regarded as the rebel MPs and other Legislators are in deep shock and want investigations into the cause of Cerinah's death done as fast as possible.
