Uganda's Olympic gold medalist Stephen Kiprotich was on Saturday named the 2012 Nile Special-USPA Sports Personality of the year and received an award for the same.
Kiprotich beat national rally champion Jas Mangat and professional boxer Joseph Lubega to bag the award that is given out by sports journalists.
He says after with this award, he is looking forward to the World Championships in August in Moscow which is the biggest event on the athletics calendar this year.
“I have to follow my training programme strictly,“I hate it when I miss training. When I came to Kampala on Friday I did some running but I have missed a few days because of the travelling.” said Kiprotich.
