The key suspect in the death of Butaleja Woman MP late Cerinah Nebanda, who also is said to have been her lover, Adam Kalungi has been apprehended by
Kenyan Police.
Kalungi who has been on the run since the MP passed on was on top of the police list of suspects in the cause of Nebanda's death.
According to police deputy spokesperson Vincent Sekate, Kalungi was arrested by the Kenyan Police in collaboration with the Ugandan Police in Mombasa Kenya where he has been hiding for over a fortnight.
He is the person who Nebanda spent her last hours of her life and is said to have been the one who brought Nebanda to Mukwaya General clinic-Nsambya in critical condition where she later died. He disappeared there after and has been on the police wanted list since then.
He is detained at police detention center at Kireka in Kampala. Police declined to offer any more information regarding Adam's arrest as according to them, this would jeopardize their investigations.
Police claims Adam Kalungi is a drug dealer and was found in possetion of narcotics.
According to the government medical report, Nebanda is said to have died of drugs and narcotics that contained alcoholic content. This contradicts the first postmortem report done by Mulago Hospital doctors and Parliamentary commissioner Chris Baryomusi which asserted that Nebanda's death was as a result of poisoning.
