The suspended Legislators are Theodore Ssekikubo (Lwemiyaga County) Barnabas Tinkasimire (Buyaga County), Muhammad Nsereko (Kampala Central) and Ndorwa East’s Wilfred Niwagaba.
They were suspended from the party over what they (CEC) termed as indiscipline and the tendency of the MPs campaigning against party members for political position.
The Central Excutive Committee, which is the Party's top governing body, chaired by President Museveni and the Secretary General Hon. Amama Mbabazi resolved to have them thrown out of the party and Parliament as well since they joined the house on the NRM ticket.
Parliament Speaker has been at loggerheads with NRM's top officials, notably Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi over her ruling not to throw out the suspended MPs, who according to the party, are accessing the house "illegally".
Comprised of five Judges, the Constitutional Court's decision was reached by 4. Steven Kavuma, the Deputy Chief justice, Augustine Nshiimye, Faith Mwondha and Richard Buteera were infavor of the ruling while Justice Remmy Kasule disagreed with them over the ruling.
