Tooro Kingdom readies for King Oyo's Coronation Anniversary.

There is a hype of activity and excitement in Kabarole District as Tooro Kingdom prepares for the 18th Coronation Anniversary celebrations of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV due this weekend.


The celebrations to be held at the royal palace in Fort Portal, Kabarole District, will be graced by President Yoweri Museveni, Ministers, other cultural leaders, dignitaries and MPs from the district.

The kingdom prime minister, Mr Stephen Kaliba, said plans are under way to make the celebrations successful and enjoyable.

The celebrations are to be held under the theme, “The Youth and Tooro Kingdom-Synergies and Challenges.”

King Oyo ascended to the throne at an early age of  3 after the death of his father, King Patrick Kaboyo.

As part of the events to mark the celebrations King Oyo visited Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital on Tuesday to open a surgical camp, where free medical services to patients.
