Nigeria sailed through to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals victory after beating Cup contenders Burkina Faso 1-0 goals at Soccer City Stadium in South Africa.
Despite all their trials and shots on target, Burkina Faso could not equalise with Nigeria who got the lead in the First half of the match through Sunday Mba's first and only goal.
Under their black coach, Stephen Keshi, they overturned fears and worries of many who thought a black coach could not lead a national team to a tournament victory.
Stephen Keshi was the Nigerian National team captain in 1994 and led the team to AFCON victory. He therefore joins the books of history as one man who has led his team to victory as a player and as a manager.
