The Acting Deputy Chief Justice Constance Byamugisha Kategaya has passed on. She has been a judge of the Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court of Uganda.
She succumbed to breast cancer at Case Clinic on Buganda road where she has been receiving treatment.
Justice Byamugisha is a sister to the late First Deputy Prime Minister and East African Affairs Minister Eriya Kategaya, who also passed away early this month at a Nairobi-Kenya Hospital.
She is wife to a Kampala advocate Dr. Joseph Byamugisha.
Close family members confirmed her death and burial arrangements are on going. She is likely to be laid to rest on Sunday in Kabale.
