At the Bomas, the National tally center of 2013, Chairperson of the IEBC, Isaack Hassan, declared publicly that Kenyatta was Kenya's fourth President after he beat his closet rival Raila Odinga in a hotly contested race to the Kenyan State House.
Out of the 12,338,667 total votes cast, Uhuru garnered 6,173,433 votes against Odinga's 5,340,546 votes. This gave Uhuru a margin of 832,887 votes and a percentage vote of 50.03322%.
According to the Kenyan Constitution, for one to win a Parliamenatry or Presidential race, they must score above 50% of the majority vote.
Kenyatta was then handed a certificate of election by the Chairman of IEBC Isaack Hassan at Bomas and was declared the Officially and Democratically elected President of the Republic of Kenya.
Uhuru's win comes at a time when he is battling charges in the International Criminal Court over the 2007 post election violence in Kenya in which he is suspected to have been one of the people who influenced the violence.
