The Inspector General of Police Lt. Gen. Kale Kayihura on Tuesday evening announced a reshuffle of over 43 t regional and district police commanders which according to sources takes immediate effect.
In the reshuffle, 13 senior superintendents, 8 assistant commissioners,
13 assistant superintendents and 8 superintendents of Police were transfered to other areas across the country.
Mr Dodovic Awita, who has been in Counter Terrorism, is now the commandant of Aviation Police replacing Mr Moses Kafeero.
Most of the officers who have been affected by the transfers are those from areas that have been worst hit by robberies and murders.
Gen. Kayihura also made changes in Great Masaka region that has witnessed several unsolved murders especially due to land wrangles.
