Ugandans should prepare to dig deep in their pockets so as to cope with life if the government proposal increase taxes on fuel is to be approved by Parliament.
According to a 2013/2014 Budget Framework Paper (BFP) presented by Finance Minister Hon. Maria Kiwanuka at the NRM caucus meeting at State House Entebbe, a tax of about shs. 50 is to be imposed on all fuels coming to the country.
This will definitely have an impact on the cost of petrol and diesel which are highly consumed in Uganda. The cost of transportation will then be forced to rise as well.
Water for domestic use will also subjected to taxes, likewise airtime cards and mobile money services.
