Newly appointed Minister for Internal affairs Gen. Aronda Nyakairima has to wait a Little longer for his approval as a Cabinet minister, after the Parliament's appointments Committee chaired by Parliament speaker, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga deferred the final decision on his approval to Thursday this week.
The Committee says they are still having consultations on Aronda's fate with the Uganda Law Society, Attorney General and Legal Team of Parliament on legal issues pertaining to his appointment and subsequent approval.

Aronda's appointment was differed by the Committee late early July, pending consultations with the President, which the committee did twice at State house Entebbe.
Questions arose on whether Gen. Aronda should be approved as a Cabinet Minister, at the same time still serving as a member of the Uganda People's defense forces. Article 208 requires a serving army officer not to be partisan, article 205 that provides that a Minister is presented as a political leader .
Meanwhile MP Ellioda Tumwesigye for Sheema County has been finally approved by the same committee and now stands as a Junior Minister of Health in charge of General Duties.
