Former Ugandan Chief Justice (CJ) Benjamin Odoki is likely to bounce back and take on the same position after President Yoweri Museveni said he was considering re-appointing the 70 year old learned fella and called on the Judicial Service Commission to expedite Odoki's reappointment documents for his signature.
In a letter addressed to the Judicial Service Commission, Museveni said Ooki should be allowed to serve for an additional 2 years term.
Odoki quit the office of Chief Justice in March this year after he made it to the Constitutional Mandatory retirement age of 70 years.
Museveni's move has received opposition from several stake holders including opposition political party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Civil Society Organisations, Uganda Law Society among others, calling it "Unconstitutional".
