To avoid missing out on your dream job, desist from the following;
- Do not make negative comments about your former employers and how they mistreated you. The panel would take it that may be that is how you behave and you will definitely talk ill about their Company when you leave.
- Do not give the impression that you are only interested in working for the organisation because of its name and reputation. Job hunting should be an inner depth decision.
- Do not act like you are desperate for the job. Accepting to take up any job within the organisation may cost that dream job.
- Do not make the interviewer guess what type of work you are interested in. The interviewer should not act as a career adviser.
- Do not give vague answers to interview questions as this will show your unpreparedness for the interview.
- Do not make excuses for any wrong. Accept to take full responsibility for all your actions and decisions.
- Do not exhibit frustrations or negative attitude in an interview, inspite of whatever frustrations you have faced in your job search.
- Dot not go to extremes with your posture, do not slouch and avoid sitting rigidly on the edge of your chair.
- Avoid carrying chewing gum to the interview room and start eating them there.
- Do not keep your cell phone on, if on, keep it in silence, if not, do not pick it when it rings. Do not read text messages.
