Fuel Tanker overturns in Mbale Town.

Yet another fuel tanker on Tuesday lost control and overturned along bugwere road in Mbale town, killing two people instantly.


Mt Elgon Regional Traffic Officer, Penninah Magambe blamed the accident on over-speeding and reckless driving.

Reports indicate that the driver of the fuel tanker was speaking on phone while driving and this could have been the reason he lost control of the vehicle.

Residents rushed to the scene to siphon fuel, prompting anti-riot Police to come in and block them inorder to avoid a similar incidence that happened at Namungoona along the northern bypass, in which a fuel tanker was hit by a car, causing it to spill fuel and later burst into flames, killing over 40 people.
