President Yoweri Museveni on Monday visited the site at which a fuel tanker was hit by a saloon car at Namungoona-Lubigi and went up in flames, claiming lives of over 30 people.
The President who had just returned from Tanzania, where he had gone for the Global International Smart Partnership Dialogue 2013 decided to move to the site and ascertain the impact of the accident.

Museveni expressed grief and shock at the loss of lives in the gruesome accident and pledged support to the families of all the victims.
He expressed anger over youths who instead of engaging in income generating activities, look for easy ways to make money, endangering their lives.
Reports show that many of the dead were Boda Boda cyclists who upon seeing the fuel tanker spilling fuel, decided to follow it and siphon the fuel. Later, the tanker bust and went up in flames, engulfing all of them into the fire.
At the scene Museveni was briefed by Kampala Metropolitan Commander, Andrew Kaweesa.
Museveni and Health Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda later left for Mulago where dozens are admitted and also visited the mortuary where bodies burnt beyond recognition were taken.
