The prime suspect in the murder of over ten people at Bombo Military Barracks has been found guilty of the cases that were preferred against him by government of Uganda.
On Wednesday, Court Martial sitting at Bombo found Pte. Patrick Okot guilty of all the 15 counts, 10 of which are for murder, 3 for attempted murder, 1 for aggravated robbery, and 1 for failure to protect army materials.
Okot early this year fired live bullets at a bar near the Bombo Military barracks and killed several people including a military personnel.
Earlier, Okot's lawyers had requested the court to acquit their client because he had a mental problem. This plea was however rejected since a medical report taken after his arrest showed that he was in proper mental state.
The sentence is to be read to him next week.
