Preparations are in high for the annual Martyrs Day celebrations at the Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo-Uganda in commemoration of the 22 young servants of Kabaka Mwanga who were killed on the Kabaka's orders for choosing to follow Christianity.
The Martyrs were killed and executed between 1885 and 1887.
The Martyrs Day is commemorated every 3rd June of every year and attracts Pilgrims from all around the World.
They come as early as mid May to prepare for the day and present their prayers to God through these Martyrs who are believed to be closer to God.
The Martys were both of Catholic and Anglican faiths.
This year's celebrations will be led by Mbarara Diocese from Western Uganda.
