COPA COCA COLA defending champions St. Mary's Kitende booked themselves a spot in this year's tournament finals after overcoming the first half threat from St. Leo's Kyegobe in the semi-final match played at the Kabale Stadium.
St. Leo's proved a threat in the fist half after they got their firt goal in the 8th minute coveted by Bwambale Henry. St. Mary's however could not allow to be held back and equalised after a short time.
By the last minute reading of the second half., Kitende was on the lead with 4 goals from strikers Yunus Ssentamu, Farook Miya and Shafik Bukenya
Standard High Zana won a spot to the final after overcoming St. Juliana High School Gayaza by 2-1. Zana took the lead from the penalty spot when Kafeero sent St. Julian’s keeper the wrong way.
Jerry Jakisa scored a fantastic equaliser in the second half but Zana were not to be denied and again Kafeero stole the show by scoring another dramatic goal to see Zana through.
The COPA COCA COLA competition is an annual event sponsored by COCA COLA and is aaimed at spoting talent righ from the early ages which is then groomed to form part of the National Team and other Club Teams.
