Things are not yet well with Ugandan female musician Iryn Namubiru as she is still help up in jail in Japan after she was arrested at a Tokyo Airport on May 7th allegedly for possession of narcotic drugs.
Efforts are being made by her friends both within and outside Uganda to secure her release. Her release may however take some time as security agents in Uganda, Japan and France do all they can to forge a way forward.

Iryn traveled to Japan for a concert that was scheduled to take place at Yotsukaido Cultural Hall in Tokyo. The Director of Interpol and Peace Mission, Mr Asan Kasingye, declined to reveal to the media Iryn's fate in this case.
Mr Kasingye had earlier said Ms Namubiru was treated as a French national, but Uganda Police have written to them to avail them with details of a “Ugandan born” artiste.“We have written to Interpol again to avail us with details of a Ugandan born French national, Namubiru and we think they will give us the details from which we shall start on, said Kasingye.
Namubiru has since been transferred from Narita Airport Prison to Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo.
The organiser of the said concert Mr Kiim Tumwesigye has refuted reports that he planned the plot to have Iryn arrested as soon as she set foot at the Tokyo Airport. He says he was equally shocked over the arrest of the female singer. “We waited for her from 5pm till midnight and when we contacted the immigration office at the airport, they only told us to keep waiting,”
