New Judges Unveiled.

The long awaited list of newly appointed judges was finally unveiled by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Maj Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, who had been tasked by the  Parliamentary Budget committee to present the list or his Ministry's budget requests will not be listened to.


The list that highlights transfers and new appointments however does not reveal the newly appointed Chief Justice to replace the outgoing Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki who is set to retire from the Judiciary by this year.

The appointments are to the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the High Court.

The position of Deputy Chief Justice is held by Justice Steven Kavuma, while Justice Benjamin Odoki continues to Hold his Position until a new Chief Justice is announced.

All the appointed Judges await vetting and subsequent approval by Parliament.
