As concerns keep rising over the safety of Ugandan traders and truck drivers in South Sudan, another group of unknown gunmen attacked two Ugandan truck drivers on their way from the Country's Capital Juba and are nursing injuries at Juba Complex Hospital in South Sudan.
The two are Vincent Muwonge and Joseph Kakooza. The assailants, who are still on the run, raided a convoy of cars driving to Uganda before shooting the two truck drivers in the legs and arms.
Deputy Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango yesterday said the injured victims were recovering in hospital.
There have been complaints over South Sudan's will to ensure the safety of Ugandan traders operating in the Country's Capital Juba after several Ugandans have been kidnapped and others killed from there.
Heads of the Police forces of the two countries have held several meetings to forge ways of limiting the attacks on the traders.
Patrick Onyango has however denied reports that the assailants are targeting only Ugandan traders.
Cargo transporters from Uganda to Juba have expressed dissatisfaction with the commitment of both the government of Uganda and that of South Sudan in combatting the rampant robberies and killings of innocent Ugandans in Juba.
