The Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has lashed out at Politicians threatening her with censure that will not be intimidated because she was constitutionally elected and all that she does as a Speaker is within the constitution.
Speaker Kadaga was accused by some politicians of betraying her Political Party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) after she ruled that the 4 suspended NRM "rebel" MPs were not going to lose their parliamentary seats.
Kadaga made the remarks while attending a mass at a church at Bukoto where she was a guest as one of her Parliamentarians was celebrating thirty years in Marriage.

The branded "Rebel" Mps were suspended on grounds of indiscipline and abuse of the NRM party's constitution. They are Mr Theodore Sekikubo (Lwemiyaga county MP), Mr Muhammed Nsereko (Kampala central MP), Mr Wilfred Niwagaba (Ndorwa East) and Mr Barnabas Tinkasiimire.
In her ruling, Speaker Kadaga said the MPs were entitled to their seats since the constitution does not disqualify a Member of Parliament expelled from the party from representing their constituents in Parliament.
