Current figures from the Kasese floods indicate that the death toll has risen to eight up from four after Sunday Morning's heavy down pour. More bodies were recovered in the rubble as rescue efforts were on going.
The number of people believed to have been displaced by the floods is between 9000 and 11,000 raising concerns about resettlement, food and the likely occurance of diseases.
Kasese has come in the limelight after floods swept away part of Kilembe Mines Hospital, leaving property worth millions destroyed and several residents homeless.
The Relief and Disaster Ministry is trying to make deliveries of relief items to the affected Kasese families and ensure that those displaced are relocated to much safer places to avoid a re-occurance of the disaster.
