Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has ordered all Taxi operators to resume the payment of the Shs.120,000 monthly taxi fees that had been previously blocked by court pending clarification on the the payment process and procedure.
Addressing a press conference at the City hall, KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi said under the KCCA Act, the Minister in-charge of Kampala is mandated to instruct the Executive Director on the best way to run the Authority.
She said the Kampala Minister Hon.Frank Tumwebaze had instructed her to re-instate the fees to enable the Authority conduct her duties and finance all her expenses.
The fees take effect from the month of May.
