Over 20 children have been rescued from the camps of the rebel group, Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) on the Buvuma islands in Uganda.
The children had have been undergoing training in the Forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo and are said to be part of a bigger group of young children from the Muslim faith who are being trained by the ADF to interfere with the peace of the Uganda and the DRC Governments.
According to the Deputy UPDF spokesperson, the training camps were discovered after an undercove intelligence team engaged with the group and got to these camps.
Ngabirano said the Children are picked from their homes with promises of education bases on the Islamic faith and it is through this that they are under taken the tough trainings of the rebel activities, which erode their minds of desires to go back home.
He said counseling and rehabilitation of the rescued kids had been done and were awaiting to be handed over to their parents.
The Children are from the Districts of Mayuge, Iganga, kamuli, Buvuma and others.
