Its exactly one day left for Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) to switch off all mobile phone lines that have not yet been registered by the respective telecom service providers.
At a news conference in Kampala early this week, Minister for Security Hon. Murui Mukasa said no unregistered lines will be left functioning since Ugandans have been allocated enough time to finish the registration exercise.

He said over 80% of Uganda's 17 million phone subscribers from the over seven Mobile Communication service provider, had registered their lines with the service providers and hence they are not going to allow any more time.
The exercise that started early last year was scheduled to close in March but was extended to May and later to August 31 2013.
