The evil of School fires seems to be coming back to the Country, destroying School and Student's property worth millions of shillings, with the latest fire being at Nile High, a 4 star Secondary School found in Ddandira-Mukono District.
In a period of only one week, the school experienced the fire twice. According to the School administration, the fire first caught one of the boys dormitories Oxford on Thursday night and then on Sunday night, Manchester Dormitory also caught fire.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit. This however has been objected by Parents who had gone to the school to pick their children saying a short circuit can not happen in two different places at different times. This therefore casts doubts on the real cause of the fire.
On Monday, the School's Board of Directors resolved to have the school closed to allow for further Police Investigation and to avert any more danger from happening at the school.
"The Board has taken a decession to close the school one week before the end of term to avoid any loss or damage but we shall do anything possible to avert any such occurrence at this school" said the School's Executive Director Mr. Yese Mubangizi.
There have been no loss of lives in these fires as they happened at the time when students were in preps. Many however lost books, documents and other personal possessions.
Nile High has been one of the best performing Schools in Mukono District and has always produced the best Candidates at both O and A'levels.
